Speaker: Mr Luis Weir UKOUG Partner of the Year Award Winner 2017/18 UKOUG Speaker Award Winner 2015 & 2016 ACE Director

Co-presenter: Robert Wunderlich - Oracle
Presentation abstract: There is no doubt that microservice architectures are changing not only the way systems are designed and built but also how they can be delivered. What’s rarely discussed though is how the APIs exposed by microservice are managed throughout the entire development lifecycle and therefore ensure there is visibility and control. By taking a design-first approach with Oracle’s API Platform and Apiary cloud services, we will show how an organization can be successful with Microservices.

In this presentation, we will demonstrate how Oracle API Platform Cloud Service and Oracle APIary are implemented to: 1) promote a design-first approach to APIs. 2) How an API-first design approach helps an organization to deliver microservices, 3) implement continuous integration to support a microservice strategy, 4) publish API in a developer portal along with comprehensive API documentation and mock-testing to promote adoption and 5) define API permissions to maintain proper controls on who can use the APIs.
